OVERTURE
My first collection of poetry, written and compiled between 2021 and 2023. Like a musical overture, this book is a preview of what’s to come. It contains 55 original poems with author’s notes. In these works, I explore the thrills, desires, losses, and unknowns of my youth, and I try to capture the magic of dreams and memories.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Much like with poetry, I always enjoyed photography, but never explored it until my late teens. I took an intro class at Portsmouth High School in 2022 and have been experimenting ever since. I find that photography is able to evoke emotional themes that writing can't. (A picture, after all, is worth a thousand words!)
I shoot film on a pair of cheap mid-90s Canon EOS models, and I use a Canon 6D for digital photography. I’m also getting acquainted with an old Canon F-1.

Benjamin Doyle is a writer from the seacoast of New Hampshire. In 2021, the same year he began work on his first poems, he helped establish SS4S, a student-run climate nonprofit.
In 2022, during his senior year at Portsmouth High School, he began work on a second volume of poetry, and took up art photography as a hobby. He cites Ada Limón, Rhiannon McGavin, Stevie Nicks, and Raymond Carver as poetic influences.
Ben’s first collection of poetry, Overture, launches in the spring of 2024. He studies at the University of New Hampshire.
